AI Disclosure Requirement
All AI-assisted works must disclose the extent of AI involvement using the AIMSO H0–H5 framework.
- Identify the H-Level (H0–H5) for every published track.
- Disclose which AI platform(s) were used (Suno, Udio, etc.).
- Retain the original prompt text as evidence of human creative direction.
- Include disclosure in metadata, distribution forms, and public-facing profiles.
Prompt Authorship & Ownership
Prompts authored by a human creator may be treated as protectable creative works under certain jurisdictions.
- Document the date and authorship of original prompts.
- Register high-value prompts in the AIMI Prompt Registry for provenance.
- Avoid reproducing copyrighted lyrics, melodies, or artist styles in prompts.
- Retain version history showing iterative creative refinement.
Synthetic Voice Consent
Using AI-generated voices that resemble real individuals requires explicit consent and licensing.
- Obtain written consent before using any voice model based on a real person.
- Register voice models in the AIMI Voice Registry with consent verification.
- Avoid voice clones of celebrities, public figures, or deceased artists without estate authorization.
- Tag commercial releases with voice model attribution and license status.
Training Data Provenance
Creators should understand and disclose whether their AI tool was trained on copyrighted material.
- Request training data disclosure from AI music platforms when available.
- Avoid commercial distribution of works generated from models known to use unlicensed training data.
- Document platform model versions used (e.g., Suno v4 vs v3.5).
- Monitor legal developments regarding AI training data lawsuits.
Sampling & Derivative Works
AI-generated tracks that incorporate recognizable samples or derivative melodies still require clearance.
- Clear all recognizable samples through the original rights holder before distribution.
- Treat AI-generated interpolations of existing songs as derivative works requiring licensing.
- Use content ID scanning on distributed platforms to detect accidental similarities.
- Maintain clearance documentation for all commercial releases.
Platform Commercial Use Rights
Each AI music platform grants different commercial rights — verify before monetizing.
- Review the platform's Terms of Service for commercial use grants.
- Paid subscription tiers often unlock full commercial rights on Suno, Udio, etc.
